Marion is more durable but when healthy Portis is far better. He's faster, more agile, protects the ball better, FAR FAR better blocker (watch some of the Redskin passing plays), better catcher out of the bakfield. I think MB3 is better u'll c when he starts more games he's is not afraid of getting hit
Marion Barber is the better back, he it tougher between the tackles and finishes runs better than any small back that i have ever seen. Portis seems to rely on his speed, which i dont think is elite, never was, and not on driving his legs, he goes down easy. Barbers run versus the patriots is an example of his drive, so i pick Barber

As a Cowboys fan, I think Barber is the best right now; but Portis has the edge over the two players' careers. Portis has had some injury problems recently. And 2008 will be Barber's first year as a starter; though he basically was last year (just not in name).
Marion Barber. Clinton Portis was able to make big plays because with Cambell at qb, Portis got the ball more. But in the shorter amount of time that marion barber got the ball, he still made huge plays.
i would say marion barber seems more duable. portis injury prone
