Biblical God a Barber?

I have promised myself to never ever pose question against anyone's beliefs for the sake of bashing it to satisfy myself but while reading Bible, I have stepped on this verse that has made me laugh and confused at the very same time.

ISAIAH 7:20:

In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, [namely], by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

Shaving head and hair of feet with a razor?Biblical God a Barber?
Barbers were originaly 'holy men' with a perceived gift for healing. This they usually did by 'bloodletting' - the logic at the time was that most ailments resulted from 'bad blood' or 'too much blood' and so they cut open their patients and let them bleed until 1) their sickness was cured or 2) they died. The rotating candy-striped pole out front of most barbershops actually represents the blood-soaked rags that they used to hang outside their shops to let dry.

So actually the comparison seems quite valid.Biblical God a Barber?
Remove the word 'other' from that sentence, please!

Thanks. Sorry you didn't get the answer you were looking for. There are Christians here up to the challenge but I guess they weren't around that day.

Please pray for the spirit of understanding first, then go back and read from the beginning of chapter 7 again.

I am sure you will understand it then.
